Program Notes

* Additional Supporting Course - Select 3 credits from the following: CAS 415, CHNS 121, CMLIT 153, ENGL 403, FR 138, FR 487, FR 488, IT 475, JAPNS 453, MUSIC 004, PHIL 005 (Please check the language of instruction)

  • Students studying at any of the commonwealth campuses that do not offer Comm 160, Comm 100, Comm 150, Comm 250, or Comm 242 will take those courses at University Park.  Comm 100 will be taken 5th semester to replace Comm 304 to be taken 6th semester.  Comm 304 will be taken 6th semester to replace Comm 413W which will be taken 7th semester.  Comm 413W will replace 3 credits of a non-Comm elective in 7th semester.  3 credits of non-Comm will replace Comm 100 4th semester.  Comm 150 will be taken the 5th semester to replace Comm 250 to be taken the 6th semester.  Comm 250 will be taken 6th semester in place of a B.A. Knowledge Domain.  The B.A. Knowledge Domain course will be taken 3rd semester in place of Comm 150.  Comm 160 will be taken the 5th semester.  Comm 242 will be taken the 6th semester to replace Comm 411.  Comm 411 will be taken 8th semester in place of 3 credits of elective.  3 credits of elective will be taken 4th semester in place of Comm 242. 
  • Students who do not take the Optional Comm 160 course should replace this course with a 1 credit elective.

*Effective Fall 2012, all incoming Schreyer Honors College freshmen at University Park will take ENGL/CAS 137H in the fall semester and ENGL/CAS 138T in the spring semester.  These courses carry GWS designation and replace both ENGL 030 and CAS 100.*
