All students must take a United States Cultures (US) and an International Cultures (IL) course.  J ST 010, required of all J ST majors, fulfills the International Cultures requirement. The United States Cultures requirement may be satisfied by completing a US designated General Education, Bachelor of Arts, major, or elective course.

All students must complete at least one 3 credit WRITING INTENSIVE course.  Courses with the suffixes W, M, X, or Y satisfy this requirement.

At least one Natural Science course must be a laboratory course.
