Additional Notes

All incoming freshmen must take a First Year Seminar (FYS) during fall or spring of their first year.  Most FYSs in the College of the Liberal Arts are 3 credits and count as a General Humanities (GH) or General Social Sciences (GS) course.

All students must take a United States Cultures (US) and an International Cultures (IL) course.  HIST 178, required of all LATAM majors, fulfills the International Cultures requirement. ANTH 045, required of all LATAM majors, fulfills the United States Cultures requirement.

All students must complete at least one 3 credit WRITING INTENSIVE course.  Courses with the suffixes W, M, X, or Y satisfy this requirement.

At least one Natural Science course must be a laboratory course.
